Day 304: Pajama girls

We joined John, Jen, Maria and a few other guests for dinner tonight, and stayed to visit late enough to have both of the girls in pajamas. I believe Maria had already "gone to bed" before this picture was taken, but Zaria wanted to see how she was doing and "woke" her up (as if she was actually sleeping).

Day 250: Pink fire patrol

We had a play date at the park today with Jen and Maria. Maria was much more interested in the play equipment than Zaria, but they both enjoyed this fire truck for a while.

Day 185: Playtime

We visited Jen and Maria again today, enjoying some leftover Papa John's pizza. I was having trouble eating much, feeling a little queasy all week actually. But the girls had a good time looking at books and pushing strollers. Especially when Jen realized she had a second stroller and they both went around in circles with them.

Day 169: Girls rock

John and Jen ended up acquiring some free tickets to see the Wild play, so we had Maria over this evening. She and Zaria had a good time playing on the drum together. I also was entertaining Cassie and Kami, so it was a real girl-power evening. Jamin got home late and I opted not to go to a political meeting with Cassie to meet a candidate in lieu of putting these girls down to bed while Jamin ate supper. Cassie came over afterwards to tell me about the meeting and we realized we've been friends for roughly half our lives!

Day 136: Camera phone shot

Jen and I are trying to meet once a week and today we met a day early. Maria's definitely a 2-year-old and having trouble sharing things with Zaria, but right before this moment it was Zaria that didn't want to share her mama's lap. That was OK since I was able to find room for both to get this shot on my camera phone. Jen took it for me since I couldn't reach my hand out that far.

Day 123: Sledding

We went to visit Jen and Maria again today and decided to try taking the girls sledding. Zaria's still not too crazy about being immobilized in her snowsuit, but she went down the hill with me a couple of times. She liked being pulled around with Maria a little better, I think. I imagine it would be a little scary to go careening down a hill when you're bundled up like a mummy and can't move. I had fun, and the girls were ready for a nap when we were done.

Day 104: Singing Maria

Here's Emil, Maria and Zaria all playing the piano at the same time. Yes, they made beautiful music together.
And Maria, the musically-named and always cute 2-year-old. We celebrated her birthday with her today, though her birthday is the 6th. She and Zaria have a good time together.
