Day 180: More hands

Another hand comparison, between Jamin and Zaria. But actually they were both having fun drumming out a rhythm on the table together.

Day 169: Girls rock

John and Jen ended up acquiring some free tickets to see the Wild play, so we had Maria over this evening. She and Zaria had a good time playing on the drum together. I also was entertaining Cassie and Kami, so it was a real girl-power evening. Jamin got home late and I opted not to go to a political meeting with Cassie to meet a candidate in lieu of putting these girls down to bed while Jamin ate supper. Cassie came over afterwards to tell me about the meeting and we realized we've been friends for roughly half our lives!

Day 85: More Taiko, more happy

I put Zaria at the Taiko Drum Master game to see if she might get some of the hits *accidentally* but my scientific methods weren't very great because I helped her a bit. I'm sure at least 2/29 correct hits must have been from her! Anyways, it was a great exercise to help wake her up from her afternoon nap. In case you're wondering, she does wake up very happy most of the time. Unless she gets too little sleep because we have to go somewhere. It might be hard to see, but she is showing her two little bottom teeth in this smile. I keep thinking she'll bust out with more, and even dreamed that she woke up with a full set of teeth (which was a nightmare!), but so far only two with a whole lot of drooling and chewing.

Day 74: Little Drummer Girl

Every once in a while, Zaria and I sit at the drum and play. She gets pretty excited about it and usually beats with both hands going at once. When I was pregnant with her, the first time I felt her kick was right after I'd been to a drum circle group, so I've wondered if she'll be a natural born drummer. Whether she wants to actually be a drummer someday or not, we'll sure have fun.

Day 38: I get the car again

If I was to have a car at all today, Jamin had to take the scooter. He left sort of late and had a run to Cedar Rapids, IA, so he took the scooter so I had the freedom to make it to the library and to get groceries. He actually didn't get home until after 2 AM, so it was a good choice. Only trouble: I got to the library and got a call from him needing a jump-start on his semi. Fortunately, my mom was at the library so Zaria was still able to be part of the reading time.
Later in the evening I gave Zaria the drumsticks for the Taiko Drum Master game to see what she would do with them. She is a born drummer, I am so excited!
