Day 359: Preparations and presents

As we prepare to close on our house in a couple of days and move on Saturday, I'm trying to keep a few things out and available, like gifts and eating utensils for the moving crew. I managed to shop around at Target to get a baby shower gift for Brenda and a few other items, trying out their electronic carts for the first time. It was an interesting experience making beeping noises every time I backed up and bumping into a few aisles. I only knocked a few items over . . . I definitely have more sympathy for people that try to get around stores in wheelchairs.

Day 135: Grocery shopping with Zaria

I usually try to go grocery shopping in the late evening when I can go alone or while my mom is watching Zaria, but I've taken her a couple of times recently and she really enjoys it. She talked to several people and had older people stop and make funny faces at her. She was really a joy to take-- until I got to the check-out line and she started trying to stand up in the cart to say hello to the little boy in the cart nearby while I was about to pay. Yikes! I just had to tighten that seatbelt strap before going on.

Overall, I'd say I'll continue to bring her unless she becomes a nuisance asking for things once she learns to talk. Then I might go back to waiting until she (and Jamin in some cases) are asleep for the night.

Day 101: Christmas lights

Oh, how I love Christmas lights! They totally make up for it being cold and dark outside in December. So these are the Christmas light I put up above our garage. Of course I waited until we had our first big snowfall, which was a cold time to choose. I thought it was fun that you can also see my car gages in this photo, taken while I was pulling out of the garage to go do some Christmas shopping. I think by this time, Zaria and Jamin were both already down for the night, and I did some major grocery shopping late at night after getting a couple of presents.
