Day 363: Another baby shower

Tonight was Brenda's baby shower. It was a fun change-up of a regular Friday Night Group get together, and nice that the guys took charge of the kiddos, for the most part. Brenda's due in September, so we'll have 3 little ones joining the FNG soon. I had quite a few contractions during the shower and actually ended up going to the hospital in the middle of the night, right before our moving day.

Day 349: Parents playtime at FNG

As Karin proves here, you don't have to be under 10 to enjoy making a tower with blocks. Her 2-year-old son Sam hadn't even arrived on the scene yet. (=

Happy Birthday to my Dad today!

Day 271: FNG Welcoming committee

"Auntie" Krista and "Uncle" Joe got quite the welcoming committee at Friday Night Group this week. Even more amazing was that most of the parents managed to stay past 9 pm tonight, and we even worked in a game of Settlers of Catan. I should add a picture of Krista holding the newest member of the FNG, Kelly and Phill's baby Michael.

Day 257: Birthday cake

We celebrated Sam and Karin's birthdays this evening after looking at some houses. Here Sam and his cousin Gideon enjoy some chocolate cake while Karin prepares some more pieces. We didn't arrive until after 8 pm, so Zaria didn't participate in the cake-eating. She was already pretty tired and definitely didn't need sugar that late.

We weren't able to look at the home we wanted to put an offer in on, but we looked at some comparables with my dad and one of them caught our attention. It had a bigger kitchen and a less busy street, so it may be a contender if we like the neighborhood.

Day 236: Missing pictures!

I had some fun photos from Friday Night Group, but they have totally disappeared. No idea how that happened. I uploaded a short video to YouTube from that evening, so I know I both had pictures and uploaded them onto the computer. Maybe they'll turn up later, so I'll leave this spot open. Day 179: Leap day

It was leap day, but no leaping happened. It almost looks like it might have from the picture of Gideon and Sam above, but they were actually just sharing a moment of great silliness, picking up the red cup and laughing hysterically into the cup. I think it was just getting close to bedtime for the cousins.

Below I'm holding Zaria's hand, curious about the size comparison. Perhaps I'll have another comparison by next leap day.

Day 165: FNG Valentines Exchange

It was our annual FNG Valentines exchange tonight! There are some amazing pieces of art that group members have as their Valentines receptacles, as Joel is displaying in this photo. Joe had a new camera and had a lot of fun getting photos of everyone, including baby Elizabeth (with her parents Simon and Michelle) who came to meet everyone at just a few weeks old. This is the fourth annual Valentines exchange for the FNG. Both Joe and Krista still had their old Valentines in their boxes and enjoyed the history.

Jamin and I had Power Rangers and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Valentines that I found on sale after V-day last year. They were kinda dumb so next year maybe I'll find some better ones. Some Ninja Turtles' Valentines quotes: "You'da mutant on Valentine's Day," "It's so easy being green on Valentine's Day," and "Don't shred it! Have an awesome Valentine's Day." See, I told you they were kinda dumb. Still fun though. If you want one, please comment and let me know, they will be yours.

Day 144: Travis and Troy

At Friday Night Group we celebrated the duo birthday of Travis and Troy. Their actual birthday is Sunday, and I believe they've reached that 30-year mark this year. I've asked them before if they often got the same presents on their birthday, and they said they did, but in different colors. Travis liked red (and is pictured in red above) and Troy liked blue.

It's interesting with the FNG that there are 3 shared birth dates, but only the one set of twins. Kelly and Brenda share a birthday, as well as Zaria and Kelly's daughter Rebecca. And Kelly's due date for her second child is on Sam's birthday, so who knows if we might have another? Happy Birthday, Travis and Troy!

Day 103: Cards and cookies

Zaria enjoyed some birthday cards she got in the mail today.
And at FNG, Aidan helped me out by making sure I didn't forget my snowman cookie cutter.
