Day 306: Independence Day

We have discovered that Zaria loves to eat watermelon at the Friday Night Group barbecue. She walked all over Karin and Travis' backyard, eating the piece above down to the nubs, and also had fun playing with Gideon and Sam. Below the kids are playing at the park. By then we'd had to change Zaria's outfit after the massive wet-through of watermelon, even with the bib. She also took a liking to Sam's hat, which is unusual since she won't keep hats on most of the time. Sam enjoyed exerting some independence on Independence Day by walking down past the park toward the ponds. Fortunately, I only did minimal chasing after Zaria since there was a tricycle she wanted to try out with a parent handle on the back. (=

Day 75: Friday Night Group

Friday Night Group was down in the southern suburbs tonight, at Brian & Jill's place. There were a few kids that ran around, and we enjoyed some apple crisp that I'd brought along with some cider that Jill warmed up for everyone. Zaria is officially 11 months old today.

Day 68: Brief play date

We met up with Christine, who was watching Rebecca as well as her son Aidan today at the Maple Grove Community Center play area. They're all part of the Friday Night Group, but we only saw Christine later in the evening. The community center play area's not a great place for a crawler, but Zaria will love it when she starts walking. Rebecca happens to be exactly a year older than Zaria, which is kinda fun.

I'm actually amazed we got all the kids to sit in one spot. Rebecca and Aidan were pretty tough to keep track of. This is what I have to look forward to in a year!

Day 19: Sunset on the way to FNG

There were some much better clouds and colors earlier, but it's really not good to be reaching for your camera while you're driving. I was very pleased, however, to discover that the new bridge at Hanson Blvd was finally completed. This shot is fairly close to that. Oddly enough, we took that same exit the next day to go to a park for a picnic with our old church, Cornerstone Church of Blaine. Coon Creek Lions Park-- what a name! I also had no idea that it was such a lovely park, and bigger than what you see from the road.
